Its time for the Club Championships for 2018 and the course is in prime condition after recent rains, promising an open contest for top honours in all grades.
Defending champion James Lavender will go in as favourite again. James is in great form after his recent close second in the Victorian Senior Open when he stormed home in the final round, and is always hard to beat over 72 holes.
Harley Cindric, last year’s Junior Champion and Rata Lata MVP in the 2018 pennant season are strong contenders. Rata has performed consistently and is closing the gap on the champion.
Dan Wright and Matt Clements are always high on the winners’ lists each weekend and will feature after good pennant seasons,but then all of our pennant players have genuine chances.
Kayli Schenk Ladies defending champion who has represented Victoria in the Under 15s Championships in Sydney this week will be hard to beat. With Vanessa Agius 2016 champion unavailable due to school exams Kaitlyn Adam and others will be hard-pressed to challenge the in-form young star. However the Northern and Glenroy Cups are always open and competitive events and previous winners will be keen to defend their titles.
